Client Blog: The Sperling family’s magical Lapland adventure

When Karla got in touch, she was dreaming of an immersive winter Lapland that ticked all the boxes: snow (the fluffy kind), Santa (the real one, naturally) and adventures that would leave her three kids (aged 9 whilst away!, 6 and 3), hubbie Steve – and possibly Granny and Grandad – grinning from ear to ear. No pressure, then!

With a bit of fairy dust (and a lot of planning), I pieced together a trip with Not In The Guidebooks to Santa’s Igloos Arctic Circle in Rovaniemi, complete with luxurious glass-roofed igloos, huskies, reindeer, and a few surprises along the way.

This was going to a family holiday they’d be talking about for years and I’m so pleased to have been a part of their magical adventure. Here’s what Karla had to say...

Just wanted to message Jo, to say thank you so so much for our amazing Lapland holiday. After worrying that there was going to be no snow, we got so lucky and had the white magical experience we dreamed of.

The activities were brilliant! The huskies, reindeer experiences and snowmobiles were spot on. Really authentic and magical. We didn’t at any point feel like we were in a long line of tourists being shuffled along.

The interconnecting glass igloos were perfect – they were so cosy. And guess what! We even got to see the Northern Lights from them, too. It couldn’t have been better.

The children said their best part was Santa and that “he was excellent”! Lily also had the best birthday - thank you so much for the cake – that was really thoughtful.

We made a little video round up of our favourite things...

Well done, Jo, everybody loved it. We will be in touch soon.” 😉
