At 81, the idea of my first solo holiday was a little daunting, but with the thought of late summer sunshine calling, I knew I just needed the right support - and that’s where Jo Shayler came in!
After discussing options, we settled on the Grecian Park Hotel in Protaras, Cyprus, known for its breathtaking views of the Mediterranean. From the moment I arrived, everything was meticulously organised, from flight timings to transfers. I didn't have to worry about a thing, thanks to Jo's superb attention to detail.
The hotel itself was a dream - spacious and spotless, with a welcoming, friendly atmosphere. My room on the top floor had a stunning sea view and all the modern amenities I could ask for.
The pool area was huge, beautifully designed and never felt crowded. The staff were efficient, friendly, and made me feel completely at ease.
One of the highlights was the beautiful Konnos Bay, accessible by 164 steps or a beach buggy. The crystal-clear waters and safe swimming conditions made it a perfect spot for relaxation, and I could see why families loved it.
Around the hotel, there were also great options for food, including fresh fruit cocktails by the pool, ice creams and a delicious seafood buffet.
While the hotel offered everything I needed, the convenience of the regular bus service made exploring Protaras easy, where I met up with friends and enjoyed the local atmosphere. The Grecian Park, though, was an ideal base - peaceful, spacious and never too busy.
The only minor downside was the lack of a drying facility for swimwear, but that was a small issue compared to the overall experience.
Jo took care of every detail, from organising my boarding passes to ensuring transfers were seamless. Her support gave me the confidence to fully enjoy my holiday without any concerns. From the moment I left the UK to the time I returned, I felt completely looked after.
I can’t thank Jo enough for making my first solo holiday such a success. I wouldn’t hesitate to book with her again, and I’m already looking forward to my next adventure!
